Away - Halas Hawks

Sat, 26 Oct 2024, 16:27

The unbeaten start to the season continues with a 1-5 away win at Halas Hawks. The girls tried their best to play nice football on a very long grass pitch.  We found ourselves 0-2 up at half time with goals from Emma and a lovely goal from Elysia who slotted home after a nice Cruyff turn on the edge of the box.   The first half was mostly played in out opponents half, and we were unlucky not to have more goals to show for after some smart saves from the Halas Hawks keeper and some chances going a miss due to the longer grass.

Our defence was strong in the first half, Peyton, Lacey, Erin, Myanna and Gracie all playing well in the first half.  Midfield was good with Emma dominating the centre and Mona, Sophie, Elysia and debutant Scarlett using nice skills on the wings.

Second half was much the same and we scored further goals from Mona who was a constant menace to the opposition, Sophia who smashed home a lovely shot from the edge of the box, and Layla finishing the scoring after a lovely right wing cross from Erin which Gracie nearly scored before Layla hit home the rebound.

A great team performance with some players playing different positions, Gracie played centre forward and left back and was comfortable in both.  Lacey played left back and centre back, Erin right back and right midfield, Mona centre forward, right midfield and right back, Peyton centre back and centre midfield and nearly scored a worldy after a long run from midfield !! And finally, Elysia left midfield and striker and scored that great goal with nice skills to create the goal for herself.

Keep up the good work girls !!!

Thanks to the parents who made it along to support !
