Kicking off the 24 - 25 Season in style !!!

Sun, 13 Oct 2024, 10:29

It was great to get back to football yesterday morning after what seemed like a very long break. The girls had performed well in training and looked every bit the part as they took to the field for their first competitive Premier League match.

They were hardworking, disciplined and tactically aware in the first 30 minutes and went into half time 0-0. We did note however that the girls needed to be a quicker to balls and louder on the field.

There were great performances and linkup play all over the field and the introduction of Gracie in the second half allowed us to find a little extra space in the centre. She also managed to hit the bar with a volley with her first touch of the ball.

We needed a moment of magic to break the deadlock and that came from Elysia who ran 30m with 3 opposition players in chase before slotting home with composure. The move came about from some great linkup play from Em and Mona.

The opposition pushed hard in the final 10 minutes but Stockton were resilient with quality performances in every position.

FT 0-1

POTM - Elysia

PPOTM - Gracie

Goals - Elysia
